Citizen/UCI racing or Fondo?

Our fondo is open to everyone. All participants, regardless of gender and age, will start together. Depending on number of participants we will sort the chip-timed results by combinations of gender for both overall and age categories. The fondo will have no prizing other than the finisher medals. You should participate in the fondo if your primary objective is to challenge yourself.

If your primary objective to to complete with other people, then ABA Provincial Level racing is for you. When you choose to take part in ABA racing, you can choose between citizen or UCI racing. Citizen racing offers no upgrade points, however, it is a great way to get started in the world of provincial level bicycle racing. UCI racing allows you to earn points and race in faster and longer races as you progress. You can learn more here. This type of racing usually comes with prizing, however, you will need to purchase a racing license. Note that citizen racers will start with the fondo participants.

Registration closes at 11:59pm on Wednesday, June 4th.

LOCATION and ROUTE

The staging site is Mulhurst Bay Community Hall. The primary parking is the grassed area by the hall, with overflow parking in the park and on the side of the road. Note that the hall has limited bathroom facilities (2 indoor, and 1 portapotty). We have provided changing tents in side the hall for you to change in, so please try to leave the bathroom free for people who need to use the facilities.

Each race category starts with a neutral rollout for approximately 4km from Mulhurst Bay Community Hall. Please review the interactive map to see the route. The race will run CLOCKWISE. Each lap of the course is 24km; please note the START and FINISH are separate from the lap (it is your responsibility to know the course and the number of laps).

Marshalls will be stationed at course corners, however their primary responsibility will be helping with traffic control and awareness. They are not responsible for showing you the route. It is recommended that you study the route below to avoid any wrong turns.
