It is time for my thrice-annual beg and plead for volunteers for our race coming up THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 7. The Pigeon Lake Road Race / Fondo is one of Alberta’s longest running events and we would love for it to continue, stronger than ever.

We are still missing CRITICAL volunteers in order to run our event -  namely, corner marshals and commissaire / follow cars. If you volunteer, or bring a volunteer to this event, you can have a free entry to one of our other events. You can sign up here: https://volunteersignup.org/LCX3W and read more about the various positions here: https://www.ertc.org/plvd and about the event here: https://www.ertc.org/plrr

If you’re not sure what you want to do, please sign up for “Extras” with the time period(s) you are willing to help out and we will put you to work.

The driving and corner marshals have been separated out by shift and I have done my best to gauge when your shift will be over, based on the slowest finishers from last year. It is very possible to participate in the morning, and volunteer in the afternoon, and vice versa. If you are splitting your day like this.

Club Updates:

  • PLEASE VOLUNTEER :)

  • Regular Skill sessions are now over for the year. Keep your eyes peeled on strava and this section to catch one-off skill brushups for the season. If you want to continue your improvement journey, our weekend Lite rides are welcoming of all rider levels.

Ride Updates:

  • All rides are cancelled on Saturday to ensure that we have enough people to volunteer. If we have enough people, we will go for a lap of the lake after cleanup, at Lite / Tempo B pace (about 60km, 4-6pm)

  • New route experimentation for our weekend rides continues. Come check them out. Groups will be split if they get too big.

Racing Updates:
