Good Morning!

This week’s weekly update is totally late – but hey it was a holiday Monday! Tuesday Intervals was a great success with the most people I’ve ever seen out on a Research Park session (10 I believe?) and it was a great session for learning how to corner at speed and increasing fitness.  Fortunately for the wildfires but unfortunate for us, it rained every day after that right up until Monday, forcing a lot of us to stay inside or go for a shower on our bicycles. Please check our website for the weather policy.

Announcements/Ride Changes:

This Wednesday will be led by Alain Berube - Meeting up at the usual spot in Hawrelak Park!

This weekend, ERTC will be participating in the Alex Stieda Cycling Classic – consisting of a road race partially on gravel on Saturday, as well as the criterium on Sunday – taking place at the Research Park, but in reverse this time! Come ride out and check out the races if you like, there will be more information on Facebook.

Also on Sunday is the Annual Specialized Women’s Ride led by one of our members, Specialized Ambassador Dana Murphy and a Family BBQ at our sponsor, Revolution Cycle. I’ll let the Facebook event do the talking: I lack the necessary qualifications to partake in the ride and will be at the criterium, but will definitely make an effort to stop by afterwards!

Last but not least: I’m happy to announce that we will be co-hosting the MEC Gran Fondo / Century Ride on June 26th! We’ve been asked to co-host the beer gardens (of course…). We would love for your support, either through volunteering – we will be using this as a recruitment opportunity to grow the club, or simply just to come out and push yourself and ride! It’s a fully supported ride with multiple breaks and places to refuel. I’ve done it a couple times myself. The only thing is that there is a race in Canmore the same weekend, so it will be up to the non-racers to step up and represent our club (and drink beer while doing it.). I will let the event page do the rest of the talking here:
