Howdy Howdy, as the weather cools down these updates and the regular rides will slow down in frequency as we wind down the road season.

Club Updates:

  • Rides will be heavily weather based this time of season - remember to check slack for possible “Hey it’s nice out, lets ride!” Impromptu rides in lieu of scheduled ones.

  • ERTC hosts the Croken Classic Race/Ride this weekend - while we could use a couple of volunteers (https://volunteersignup.org/YTL79) We would love it if you came out and raced instead! http://www.ertc.org/cctg

Race / Event Updates:

  • October 4- Midweek CX - This week it’s Argyll, 6:30pm start. ALL ERTC MEMBERS RACE FREE. Just say you’re with ERTC.

  • October 7-8 - Bicisport/Beans N' Barley - https://www.albertabicycle.ab.ca/calendar

Ride Updates:

  • Regular Saturday Rides are now cancelled for the rest of the season, however keep your eyes peeled on strava and slack, as rides may be posted when the weather is nice.

  • Thursday’s Hill Ride (Both forwards and reverse) will now start at 5:30 to fight the darkness. Remember to bring lights.

  • YEGCROSS Continues (led by Robin Baille who you may have seen at hills once in a while) hosts cyclocross based interval workouts. These meet at Kinsmen starting at 6pm. It is recommended that you come with at least 20 minutes of warm up in your legs. More info here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1635190320143436 you will need to ask to be part of the group.

Reminders:

  • All day-to-day club communication takes place on slack - you can join here: https://join.slack.com/t/edmontonroada-7u36621/shared_invite/zt-1t5qvezds-JotWB~e_EJcXrD9NArQarA on slack you can find out about upcoming events, access various chat areas and hang out with other club members!

  • All ride planning and updates happen on Strava. Don’t know what that is? Learn more here: https://www.ertc.org/joining-strava if you know what that is, then the link to our strava is here: https://www.strava.com/clubs/ertc - you will need to ask to join and I will let you in once I cross reference you with the membership list. It is highly recommended that you RSVP on strava so that we can plan for an appropriate amount of ride leaders and a suitable route for the group size.
