VOLUNTEERS

LOCATION

Mulhurst Bay Community Hall

CHECK-IN TIME

  • Please make your way to the Community Hall at the following times:

    • Volunteer Coordinator 08:00

    • Parking Control 08:00

    • Marshals 08:15

    • Wheel Vehicle 08:45

    • Commissaire Vehicle 08:45

  • Check in with the Volunteer Coordinator inside the Mulhurst Bay Community Hall.

  • Bring the following:

    • sun screen, insect repellent, and even a lawn chair if you’d like to sit during down times

  • Marshals, head out to your corner to confirm that signage is in place

    • Sweep away rocks & debris that pose a danger to riders.

  • Wheel vehicle drivers, please grab your fuel card, vest, and signage package. Park your vehicle in the prescribed stall. Please arrive with a full tank of fuel.

  • Commissaire vehicle drivers, please grab your fuel card, vest, and your signage package. Park your vehicle on RR 234 facing south. Please arrive with a full tank of fuel.

Pre-Race Meeting At 09:15

Everyone should return to the Rolly View Community Hall’s volunteer desk at 09:15 for a pre-race meeting.

Commissaire Vehicles

Duties

  • Park your vehicle on the east side of the community hall

  • Tape vehicle signage to the inside of your automobile on the back and side windows

  • Your designated commissaire will provide you with instructions

  • At the end of the race park on the east side of the community hall and return any signs or other race material.

Wheel Vehicles

Duties

  • Park your vehicle on the east side of the community hall

  • Tape vehicle signage to the inside of your automobile on the back and side windows

  • In the event of a mechanical or flat, use caution pulling over to assist the rider

  • Please wear your safety vest when assisting riders

  • Make sure to record the rider’s number on whatever wheel is taken. Riders should only be taking their own wheels; these are not neutral wheels

  • Return to the hall after your race ends to unload your vehicle so that riders can claim their wheels

Start/Finish Corner

Location    

Corner of Hwy 616 and Range Road 281

Marshal Duties

  • At your corner, watch for approaching racers and stop or calm traffic as riders come through

  • You will need to completely stop vehicles from driving into the course’s lane when racers come through

  • Be kind to motorists and when possible thank them for their patience

  • Please collect the three ABA finish line approaching (1000m, 500m, 200m) signage at the end of your shift when all races have been declared over and bring them back to Mulhurst Bay Community Hall

  • 1000m To Finish

    • Placed far enough off the shoulder that it does not impede racers

  • 500m To Finish

    • Keep far enough off the shoulder that it does not impede racers

  • 200m To Finish

    • Keep far enough off the shoulder that it does not impede racers

Two sets of signs will be provided for this intersection, one set each of the following signs should be placed to the West and South of the intersection in the shoulder of Hwy 616  so that it is visible to motorists.

  • Race In Progress, 100m from the intersection

  • Prepare To Stop, 250m from  the intersection

  • Flag Person 500m from the intersection

  • “Bike race in progress” signs, 1000m from the intersection

Corner #1

This corner will be quite active as it is the beginning and end of the circuits that each race group will be doing, in addition the local gas station is located at this corner so there will be additional traffic entering and exiting the store.

Corner #2

Corner of Hwy 771 and Township Road 474

Marshal Duties

  • At your corner, watch for approaching racers and stop or calm traffic as riders come through

  • You will need to completely stop vehicles from driving into the course’s lane when racers come through

Two sets of signs will be provided for this intersection, one set each of the following signs should be placed to the North and South of the intersection in the shoulder of Hwy 771 so that it is visible to motorists.

  • Race In Progress, 100m from the intersection

  • Prepare To Stop, 250m from  the intersection

  • Flag Person 500m from the intersection

  • “Bike race in progress” signs, 1000m from the intersection

Corner #3
